The weather turns nice and I get sick

Spent most of the day yesterday and today with a runny nose, looking out the window at the wonderful weather.

Maybe it is Summer

The weather was great today.  It was 70 degrees by 10 in the morning.  North wind at about 10 mph.  There where hundreds of people walking and biking the bay trail.  The trail repairs in Foster City are progressing and the work is looking good.  I will try to get more pictures on the trail this coming Monday.

Very Strange Weather

Yesterday early in the morning it was foggy, and it even rained a bit by late afternoon there was bright sunshine.
Today on my ride in found everything from fog to bright sun. Places that are normally very windy had no wind at all and places that are never windy where very windy.  At 8 this morning the it was 54 degrees and by 4 this afternoon it was 75 degrees.
Hope this means that the weather is changing and it will start acting like summer. 75 to 90 degrees and light winds.

First Day of Summer

The weather was great, warm and very little wind.  Had a great bicycle ride. Saw several trail friends. Watched some kids windsurf.  Hope the weather holds like this for the next two months at least.

A little better than yesterday

It was windy today (25 mph) at Coyote Point and most of the bay trail was about 62 degrees. However there was no fog so I took a 50 mile ride today.  Will not have a chance to go riding tomorrow because it is Father's Day.  So I will be visiting my parents.

Shortest Summer on Record.

Summer weather started on Wednesday and continued into Thursday so I figured that maybe the weather would be nice today even if it was a bit on the windy side.  So I rode the bicycle north toward San Carlos and by the time I got to Holly Street the wind was blowing at 20 mph and all I could see ahead of me was fog.  The fog was so thick it would have been dangerous to continue so I went back to my apartment to sulk.

Woke up very late.

I finally got out of bed at 9:30 this morning and out the door by 10:15.  I still wanted to get in a ride of at least 40 miles so I did not stop anywhere to visit friends.  Weather was great and I was home by 3 in the afternoon.

No Wind Today

Super riding weather, had a very nice ride.  The Wind-Surf Shop and Snack Bar at Coyote Point is now open 7 days a week. Not sure of the exact schedule but when I know you will know.

Nice Day Today

It was a great day for a ride. The wind was light and it was 70 degrees most of the way. Put another 45 miles in the book.  So far this month I have managed to ride 572 miles in 13 days, should be well over 1000 miles by month end.  This year so far 3657 miles, not to bad for a 59 year old riding a 27 year old mountain bike.
I saw Rebecca today was not expecting to see her before mid July.  Her smile made my day.

Nice paving job

The section of the bay trail between the San Mateo Bridge and the Golf Driving Range at Foster City Blvd. has been finished and they did a very nice job of repaving, no more rocks, cracks or pot holes.

The section from the San Mateo Bridge to the Golf Driving Range should be completed tomorrow.  The bad sections have been repaved

Bay Trail Update

Construction is going on between Foster City Blvd and East 3rd street.  The detour is not that bad except in a high wind like today, it adds about a mile and a half to the route between the San Mateo Bridge and Seal Point Park.

Foster City Bay Trail Update

The first section of the "repairs" between 3rd Street in San Mateo to Mariner's Point.  I can not see what repairs where made, the pot holes are still there, the road bed is still more gravel than pavement.  Hope they are not paying the construction company a great deal of money.

Repairs to Bay Trail in Foster City Have Started.

Over the summer Foster City will be making repairs to their section of the bay trail.  For details click here
They will be working on small sections so most of the trail will be open.  They are currently working near the golf driving range just north of the San Mateo Bridge, and a detour is in place.  I will keep watch on the progress and map an alternate route for those that do no want to worry about construction.
