I Saw Rebecka Saturday.

I stopped at Board Sports School, Coyote Point yesterday to say hello to Rebecka.  Was able to do little else as she had a very big class of wind surfers.  I did take some photos of the class in progress and I will bring them to her tomorrow.  Hope we will have more time, because I might not see her again until July.

Where did spring time go?

This time of year in the San Francisco Bay Area the temperature is normally 60 F to 75 F and the rain has stopped until at least October.  However this year the temperature has been 12 to 20 degrees below average. This week the forecast is for rain Tuesday and rain showers Wednesday, Thursday and maybe Friday.  Hope the weather forecasters are wrong.  Went for a short 25 mile ride today because my foot slipped off the peddle and I received a nice cut on the leg from the metal peddle impacting it.  Was bleeding and did not want to damage my cycling tights.  Silly I know to be more worried about my clothing than my own skin.  The skin will heal in a few days but the tights where light blue and cost $70.00 it would not do to have a red/purple stain on one leg.

A Rebecka Saturday

I saw Rebecka today after two weeks.  I find that if I do not see her at least once a week life becomes very boring.

Wind and Chocolate

It was very windy today, I actually had to shift into a higher gear just to make head way.  Lost another pound, and the only difference in my routine or menu is the three glasses of low fat chocolate milk. One before the bicycle ride, One after the bicycle ride and one in the evening when I am feeling a bit hungry.  Weird very weird.

It appears to be working

The chocolate milk before and after exercise appears to be working. I lost another pound and completed a 40 mile ride 60 minutes faster than my past record.

An update on the "Chocolate Milk Diet"

I stated in my last post that I found an article which stated that drinking a 8 oz. of chocolate milk just after getting up and another glass before and after working out you would have more energy, quicker recovery and you might even drop some of that fat around the belly.  I have been following this plan for a few days now without changing anything else. The result so far is that I do have more energy I have been completing 40 mile bike rides about 60 minutes faster.  This may be do to the fact that I am not stopping as often for the taking on of water or the exporting of water.  I have also dropped 2 pounds.

A friend of my told me that she had chocolate moose for desert last night.  My first thought was a whole moose!
She must have a very high metabolism as it does not look like she put on any weight at all.

Found this a bit hard to believe

I have been looking for something that will reduce belly fat and increase muscle mass. I found this article today. I have always liked chocolate milk and protein powder is just a bit expensive.  So I will give it a try and let everyone know if it really works.  Chocolate Milk Diet

This list of Super Foods makes more sense and my mother always told me that these foods had benefits.

Forgot it was bike to work day.

Although I am into bike riding and protecting the environment by limiting the amount of gasoline used and pollutants generated by not driving my car everywhere.  Bike to work day can be dangerous. Why, well you get people out on their bicycles who have not ridden in months or even years.  They do not know the rules of the road.  It is simple most of the rules that apply to driving a car apply to riding a bicycle. Things like riding in the same direction as the cars are going.  Yes I do remember a time long ago when you where told to ride against traffic.  However that law has changed.  When riding on a bicycle path like the bay trail you are to keep to the right except when passing.  When passing you are to warn who you are passing cyclist or someone on foot by saying "On your left" or ringing your bell if you have one.  Maybe tomorrow these people will be back in their cars.

Hope the weather gets better soon

I looked out the window this morning and the big oak tree was whipping about as if it was in a washing machine on the spin cycle and it was raining so instead of a bicycle ride I cleaned my apartment and did my laundry.  Wish there where some way to train the laundry to wash itself.  I hate doing laundry and if I could get away with not wearing any clothes I think I would.

Mother's Day

Had a nice day visiting my mom and dad.  It was just a bit to windy and wet for a bike ride anyway.

A Great Saturday

I saw Rebecka today, seeing her always makes me feel good. I should have stayed longer to talk to her, but I did have to be to work by 5 PM so that required me to be home by 3:30 PM. I did the last 25 miles in record time and was home by 2:30 PM. I guess Rebecka has the same effect on me as others have drinking Red Bull. Here are some pictures.

Very Windy

I only rode 35 miles today, because most of the ride I was bucking 15 to 20 MPH head winds.

Another 50 miles and Pacific City

Rode another 50 miles today. North and South on the Bay Trail from Redwood City to San Francisco Airport and back. Weather was just perfect, very little wind and in the low to mid 70 degree range. Just east of the snack bar at Coyote Point Park I discovered a marker that talks about an amusement park called Pacific City located there in the 1920's and 1930's. I tried searching for additional information or pictures but alas the Internet failed me this time. The only data I could find was for the Comet Roller-coaster located there which appears to have operated only in 1923. If anyone has photos or information please let me know in the comment field of this post.

Fifty Miles Today

Well 47.53 miles. It was a bit on the warm side inland so I stayed on the edge of the bay all the way north and 50 % of the way back. I am going to try to get out early and ride the bay trail north to the San Francisco Airport and ride the bay trail all the way back. Really do not want to be home tomorrow anyway as there will be plumbers working in several of the apartments around me.

First of May

Left the house early today wanting to get to Coyote Point before the Boardsports School got to busy so that I could spend a few Minutes talking to Rebecka. I had forgotten that she was running a special event at the Alameda site today. So instead I chatted with Jane in between her phone calls. She is one very busy lady. Well she should be she owns the School and manages all three locations.
