It has been nice the last three days.

Even with all the rain this month I have managed to ride for 488 miles so far. Dinner is ready so more when I have time.

Tired of the Rain

I was planning to search for Rebecka yesterday, but I had only traveled about six miles into a fifteen mile an hour head wind when it started to rain. So I turned around and headed home.  Today when I got up it was raining so instead of a bicycle ride I decided to put on my rain gear and take a walk.  That did not work out very well because the wind was blowing really hard and I was soaked to the skin even through my rain gear in under 20 minutes.  It is now 4:20 in the afternoon and the sun is coming out.  Weird weather.
I almost bet it will rain again tomorrow.

Very Nice Day.

Woke up this morning and it was a very nice day sunny and quite warm.  So I quickly got dressed and out for a bike ride. Seems everyone had the same idea. I would guess that about 90% of the people out on their bicycles, roller blades and walking had the same thought as I did but they only have it a few times a year.  There are rules on the Bay Trail and I am sure most of the people I saw where quite unaware of them.  The major rule is to keep to the right unless passing (just like on any road).  When passing someone you are to warn them with a bell or by yelling something like "On your left" or "Passing on your left".  Seems a good number of people have no idea what side is their left and what side is their right.  Here is a good example of what plagued me all day long.  I was rapidly approaching a family on bicycles. I warned them with a call of passing on your left. The mother, and two of her children broke left into my path, so I moved right to be blocked by a young girl who had stopped in the middle of the path and her father who was on the right side of the road.  I had to stop and so did the people cycling from the other direction.  It took twice as long to reach my northern goal than normal.  I rode back home following the El Camino Real.  Lots of cars but at least they appeared to understand the rules of the road.  Maybe if I go out earlier tomorrow I will not find the trail congested, we will see.

Went Looking for Rebecka

Last week when I rode down to Coyote Point I stopped at the Snack Bar. The young lady working there was having a rotten day, because that morning her apartment had been broken into and several items had been taken. I talked to her as I ate my lunch. So today I decided to return to the snack bar and find out how her week had been. However when I got there she was not working so I asked her co-worker what her name was and to tell her I had stopped by to see her. They promised to pass the message along. I hope they will. I will return again to the snack bar at Coyote Point so I can see Rebecka again. If you are at Coyote Point and happen to visit the Snack Bar by the beach say hi to Rebecka for me.

I Hate Weather Reports

The weather forecast was for rain today, all day.  It did look as if it could rain at any time, but rain did not really happen until about 4:30 in the afternoon. It is now 6:00 in the evening and it looks as if the weather is clearing.  If I had gone for a bicycle ride I might have got a bit wet but not soaked as the reports said.  Tomorrow I am going to ride to the San Francisco Airport and then back to Redwood City both directions on the bay trail if I can get out the door before 9 AM.  I do not care what the weather reports say.

It Snowed Today

Sorry just could not resist an April Fools Title. It was partly cloudy today, and about 60 degrees Fahrenheit. So a very good day for a 40 mile bicycle ride along the Bay Trail. The weather report for tomorrow is for rain. I hope it does not turn out that way as I would like to look for a street in Burlingame before Monday so that I will not have any problem taking my dad to his appointment with his tax accountant .
